What are Islands?

This setting is divided up into Islands. Virtually everything out there is part of one Island or another.

The world of the DINO-PIRATES is a vast archipelago, stretching away to the south-west of powerful continental Empire. This array of islands stretches from temperate zones in the north into deep tropics in the south. Jungles, mountains, coral reefs, volcanoes and swamps fill the lands in great profusion. Imagine if from Japan to Malaysia, or even Sri Lanka, stretched an unbroken array of islands of all shapes and sizes, a maze of waterways and enclosed seas where anything might be found...

Anything?

Anything. Because islands exist somewhat independently, it's entirely possible for different islands in this archipelago to have completely different climates, animals, or civilizations. Some islands might be similar, some might have common elements, but some could be completely apart from everywhere else. If you're creating an island, feel free to make use of components from other islands, but don't feel like you have to go along with everything just as it's written elsewhere. There's no final authority on what is right or wrong here.
